June 4, 2020 - Nose: The nose is deep, layered, and savory right off the bat and fills the glass with dark red cherries, licorice, rose petals, violets, savory herbs, raspberries, and sweet pipe tobacco notes. There is a maturity and elegance at this time with the primary fruits being beautifully in balanced with the emerging tertiary notes.

Taste: The feel is Full bodied with tart, medium+ acidity and silky, medium+ tannins. The feel is silky and entering a mature place with dark red cherries, licorice, violets, raspberries, and savory herbs, and sweet pipe tobacco notes.

Overall: This is in a wonderful spot right now. It has that perfect interplay between the primary and youthful fruit and the next level, emerging tertiary tones. The tannins are still present, but they have receded a bit into the background and have left the silky feel be the star. While this can go plenty more years, it feels like it's right in that zone that provides an immense amount of joy.

May 20, 2020 - 90 minute decant. Dark, dark ruby color. Lovely violet nose. Delicious black cherry fruit, lots of umami, leather, tar. Beautiful Sangiovese character. Long, lingering finish. Very good.

April 27, 2020 - This is one of the best Brunello that I have ever had from the more modern style. Bold, rich fruit with good acid balance; a bit of earthiness, but not of comparable intensity to older style Brunello. As I see from my previous notes, this bottle greatly benefitted from time in the rack. It looks like 4 years made a huge difference, and even from one year ago the improvement is significant.

March 13, 2020 - Nose is savory with tanned leather and lots of umami, dried herbs and menthol. Palate is medium bodied. You can tell the fruit has shed its fat. Black fruits with wood ash, leather and tar. Dips a bit in the mid palate but ends with a vibrant burst of acid laced red and black fruits backed by some still pretty prominent tannins.

May 4, 2019 - Very pleasant, well rounded Brunello. Not much to complain about, just not quite as complex as some of its peers. Classic cherry, graphite, and meat; drinking very well right now with a very short decant.
