February 3, 2019 - Decanted at the restaurant. Rich ripe cherry on the nose, more cherry and spice on the palate. A smooth glide from lip to throat, charm and balance combined with plenty of power--but drying tannins on the finish suggested that it's not quite ready to drink yet.

June 17, 2018 - Nice fruit and somewhat in balance for such a young wine. While I recommend waiting another 5-10 years, it wasn’t a terrible sin opening. Think this wine will be around 92-93 points when it hits the plateau.

August 27, 2015 - Clos de Bèze Tasting-Mostly Pierre Gelin (Arlequin Wines, San Francisco): Medium red core, faded edge. Smoky, earthy nose. Medium weight, no discernible wood. Slightly sweet cherries with a tart edge and a touch of green. Open and rich, but not overly so. Beautiful harmony, length, and a fine savory finish. In retrospect, the most fruit driven wine of the 4 vintages, but plenty of other things going on. Outstanding and delicious now.

May 24, 2015 - Cherry, strawberry, hint of leather, mushroom, spice; fruit-filled, cascading, medium-long finish, some tannins; too fruity, too young, and, in the case of this particular bottle, likely heat damaged, with too strong a sense of stewed fruits

November 10, 2012 - K&L Hollywood Burgundy Tasting (K&L Wines, Hollywood): Woodland mushrooms. Dark berry. Toasty. Higher in acidity. Some tannins.
