May 26, 2021 - Popped and poured in Copake. Nose is reticent, with a slight aroma of red fruit. Medium body with copious amounts of strawberry and cherry fruit. There’s plenty of Pinot spice here, and a touch of earthy minerality as well. I notice too the wine has a slight viscous quality, likely from the oak in which it was aged. Tannins are resolved, long spicy, acidic finish. Very pretty Pinot and drinking superbly at present.
PS: Finished bottle the second nite open and it was little changed; perhaps the spice had diminished slightly. Lovely burg.
October 25, 2019 - Lovely affordable and drinking beautifully right now.
January 17, 2018 - very much alive - what tannins there were are fully resolved and the fruit is delicate but distinct - drink over the next year or so
October 15, 2017 - Red fruit (cherry, strawberry), nice spice, slight earth, good acidity. Bright. Lingering finish. Needs a couple hours air.
August 15, 2015 - Drinking beautifully now.
December 7, 2013 - On opening this was closed, rubbery, not very pleasant. After a few hours, better balanced and pleasant if smple, but I wonder whether this could have done with a little less extraction in this vintage.
March 23, 2013 - Needs air, I'd recommend a 2+ hour decant. Decent balance, good freshness, a reasonable smack of fuit leading to a mineral touch towards the shortish, lipsmacking finish.
December 6, 2012 - Probably the least impressive 2009 Burgundy in my cellar, but an excellent value: firm, reassuring bright cherry colour, attractive nose of stewed plums, cinnamon and earthy tones, and a jolly, jammy mouthfeel with an elegantly mineral finish. Perfectly decent at this price.
September 16, 2012 - Straight forward, bright red cherry fruit. Elegant structure. Nice drinking.
July 22, 2012 - Simple. Red berries, fresh and good balance.
