March 13, 2020 - I thought this wine was lovely. What stood out most to me was the silky texture. The wine was well balanced for my palate. Paired wonderfully with a steak.

September 14, 2019 - Decanted and drank over 4 hours. Red fruit on the nose with violet, soil, and barnyard. Palate is intense dried cherry and blackberry, baking spices and pronounced minerality. Very earthy with a touch of menthol and licorice at the end. Silky integrated tannins with a super long and dry finish. Fantastic wine - paired beautifully with dinner.

April 17, 2019 - This ripe yet savory wine seems to be drinking near its peak right now, if not a bit past it. Medium red in color and medium in body, the wine offers aromas of black cherry, cocoa powder, and plum. Tastes of blueberry, leather, cassis, and pencil lead, with an integrated and lingering finish. 14.5% alcohol. Decant at least an hour.

This is a solid wine, but I had hoped for a little less savoriness. When I tasted the 2008 Vecina and 2009 Pluribus recently, for example, each had an incredible balance of ripeness and earthiness. Here, the secondary characteristics seem to be coming to the front, which some people may like - but I had hoped might be a few years in the future. If you have a modern-leaning palate, drink now.

March 3, 2019 - 30 minute decant which wasn’t enough. Flowers and red fruits waft from the glass in a lovely nose. The palate is concentrated and dense with fleshy flavors of black fruit, creme de cassis and lead pencil rolling into a long finish. This has a lot of potential but today it lacks a bit of integration and focus. Possibly over time it could get better.

November 17, 2018 - Delicious wine. Popped and poured for dinner. Nose was full of ripe red fruits. Taste was closed at first, then opened up nicely as diner was served. Lots of tannins that grip you but beginning to loosen up a bit. Finish was incredible and long lasting. More than 45 seconds. This BOND has many more years left to cellar if you have them. Wish I had more! Great experience!
