April 21, 2020 - Hazelnut and deep lemon peel with flinty minerals. It’s very good, but sound bottles have a ways to go toward more complete maturity.

March 15, 2020 - The Last Supper (Before the Covid-19 Shutdown) (El Ideas): Last of a six-pack. This is at peak now with a full nose of rich orchard fruit with mineral and toast. The palate is so fresh with layers of orchard fruit, mineral and white flowers. Great concentration and cut.

March 15, 2020 - Last Wine Dinner Before the Coronavirus Shutdown (EL Ideas - Chicago IL): Rich and slightly buttery with good weight and balance through the middle, then finishing with 2009 richness.

April 12, 2019 - Dinner at S.K.Y. (Chicago, IL): Opened for lunch and finished at dinner. Not too much evolution over that ~8 hours. Compelling nose of rich white fruit with spice and mineral. Bright palate with good tension and rich fruit that presents itself in an elegant frame.

April 12, 2019 - HDH auction at Spiaggia; 4/12/2019-4/13/2019 (Chicago, IL): Love this. It's only mildly reductive, and there is an incredibly steely character to this wine that truly belies the reputation of the vintage. Incredibly fresh acidity and brightness, with a brilliant almost-slatey minerality here. Yet another bottle that convinces me of the mistake I made skipping 2009 white Burgundy.
