May 18, 2012 - CT Offline IV--Hill Country Edition; 5/18/2012-5/19/2012 (Austin / Texas Hill Country / Castleman Ranch): Smells a bit oxidized, but in a pleasant way. On the palate I think this is finally done. It's Almost smokey, spicy, and a little bitter on the palate. Buttery, and bacony on both the palate and the nose. The hints of fruit that were there a year ago are now gone. Interesting to try these bottles over a period of years. Not everyday you try a 15 year old sauv blanc. While it was much better a year ago, this was a fitting send off for the last bottle I had in my cellar.

May 18, 2012 - CT Texas IV - Friday Night Dinner (Hudson on the Bend, Austin, TX): WIML89

Tasted non blind at a wine dinner. Opened and served immediately.

Yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of matchstick, a hint of smoke and yellow pears. Flavors of yellow pears and minerals. Medium acidity, light to medium body. Drink now.

May 18, 2012 - CT Texas IV - A Hill Country Treat; 5/18/2012-5/19/2012 (Austin, Texas): Nose of lemongrass, chives, grapefruit, and lime zest. The palate falls short of the nose with it being dominated by herbs and very little fruit. Finishes soft.

May 18, 2012 - CT Texas IV (Austin, TX): Tasted non blind at a wine dinner. Didn't take detailed notes but from memory this wine was not anything like my last tasting and was a bit tired to say the least. It was flabby with nothing on the palate despite a decent nose. No rating.

April 30, 2011 - Had at a dinner at a friend's house. PnP. Grassy on the nose and palate with hints of apricots. Some sour notes in the middle before transitioning to a very long finish with hints of caramel, oak and some lemon. Very nice wine given age.
