November 4, 2018 - A bolder, more peppery, more fruity wine than is typical of the region. Slight earth tones at the front yield to raspberry jamminess with a long finish.
February 1, 2015 - Tight on opening, but after a couple of hours it opened nicely.
September 1, 2014 - Nice northern Rhone red. Tannins resolved, nice fruit, just a little bit of pepper. Would buy again!
December 10, 2013 - Decent wine but probably better out there at 30 price point. Definitely got better over few hours.
November 3, 2013 - Nice all around wine. Not much smoky taste, which was a let down for me, but smooth and enjoyable.
January 28, 2013 - A wonderful vintage but this was not our best bottle of this. Lacked intensity and concentration.
July 30, 2012 - Medium ruby. Pronounced nose of blackberry, smoke, cedar, dark plum and pepper. Good balanced palate with similar notes to the nose, and backed by firm fine tannin. However the wine felt a bit watery and the finish was quite short.
July 9, 2012 - Full and lush but a little disappointing. Interesting sandalwood notes on the nose, deep dark garnet color, mouth filling but lacks on the complexity we expected.
May 20, 2012 - Aroma of slight smoke and black licorice. Chalky mouth feel. Mineral notes and slightly savory with pepper, tobacco and a touch of dark fruit. Good structure of acidity and smooth tannins. Pleasant lasting finish. Well balanced overall. Very solid St. Joseph.
April 15, 2012 - Filling in w/the Sunday Brown Bag Group (Rich's & Dana's): Pepper, tapenade, garrigue and licorice aromas. Dark fruit and pepper notes on the palate, lasting through the finish.
