November 24, 2016 - Great Yeast notes on the nose and flavor just wish it had more fruit.
June 28, 2016 - Beginning to fade so drink up.
April 21, 2015 - An enjoyable champagne to be sure, but certainly not worth $80...buy their NV brut instead.
February 11, 2015 - Lovely. Crisp, elegant, stony citrusy chardonnay based champagne. However, there are better blanc de blancs out there for the price.
April 10, 2014 - Mailly like to make the occasional exception, just as they like to make the (more than) occasional exceptional wine. This is 50% Pinot Noir from the village of Mailly…so far, so normal, but also 50% Chardonnay from Avize, the Grand Cru village in the Côte de Blancs. The Chardonnay adds buttery hazelnut richness to the more usual biscuit and savoury descriptors associated with this house.
January 1, 2014 - Toasted in the new year with this Champagne. Good to close the year out with. Had a slight lemon flavor with strong apple flavor.
August 10, 2013 - A bit better than my previous bottle of Mailly Exception. Very good bubbles and a great lemon and bready flavor. Had with some scallops and some grilled caesar salad. Was out with friends so that is about as detailed as I can get.
July 22, 2013 - marginal. No deep notes, but it was okay, reasonably crisp with typical citrus notes...but did not excite me at all.
May 12, 2013 - Reminiscent of a top tier dom. Strong apple nose but a crisp dry pallette. Interesting dichotomy but quite enjoyable. Will buy more for quality champagne deserving occasions.
