February 8, 2011 - WSET Intermediate Course, Session 3 Tastings (Washington Wine Academy, Arlington, VA): Appearance: clear, medium intensity, ruby. Nose: clean, light intensity, fruit: red fruit (a little sour) - cherry, cranberry, bell pepper, oak, other: dustiness (not oak or minerality). Palate: dry, medium-high acidity, low-medium tannin, light-medium body, red fruit (very sour), oak (integrated), short-medium finish (primarily tannic). Conclusion: good (but not particularly distinctive).
