September 3, 2016 - Dark and rich, with a full mouth feel. Lots of black currant on the nose, with pepper and slight notes of fresh cut parsley. Still relatively well-balanced, but tannins drop quickly on the finish. Considering the age and style, it was surprisingly good. I would recommend not keeping it for a second day, unless you can vacuum out most of the air.

August 21, 2015 - PnP, served with steak from the grille, rice, grilled fresh veggies from the garden. Very consistent with previous note. Came back to it on day 2 and things were weak and flabby. Better to finish this in one evening.

February 1, 2014 - I had this wine previously while dining out, and thought there was a decent balance of fruit and tannin; so much so that I put a bottle away as an experiment. I have had good success in the past with holding "little" cabs for a couple of years to get a little secondary and a little complexity.
    Not so here.
The wine has devolved into a grapey mess, with all balance gone, tannins in full retreat, and clumsy overripe fruits on the palate.
Sometimes you get a gem, sometimes you get coal.

November 18, 2013 - PnP. Nice balance of dark fruit, spice and oak. Improved throughout the evening.

July 4, 2013 - Nothing overwhelming here but good solid juice that pleases a crowd and doesn't offend geeks
