April 25, 2020 - Still drinks OK but seem a little past it's prime. Strawberry/blackberry nose with Caramel oak undertones. Smooth pallet with fine grained tannins.

October 4, 2015 - Bloody, oranges, liquor like nose. Age is showing in this, but still a beautiful drink.

November 22, 2014 - California treasures in an unexpected place (Fulda): Slightly oxidized and pretty thin and washed out. Still ok with food but not great.

November 2, 2014 - Tasted blind, I didn't concentrate on this wine as much as I usually do. However, it was clear to me this was not an outstanding wine.

It showed decent fruit but the tannins were so monstrous that it made it seem like there wasn't much fruit.

This wine is reminiscent of the the days when CA producers thought they could make wines that would emulate Ch. Latour by going for maximum extraction. It didn't work. I don't think this one will ever come around.

June 1, 2014 - This coming out of its shell after what i suspect has been a long tannic life as there is still quite a bit of tannin here. Huge earthy, tobacco scented nose with full aged black and red fruit. Structure still there, a little short on the finish.
