September 11, 2017 - I found the fruit this time around to be quite intense - impressive for the age of the wine, but I thought the wine could have used a touch more balance and elegance. Not bad, but I think this might have peaked a few years ago.

July 12, 2016 - Nice - not getting better - smooth and pleasant - not a ton of fruit left.

February 23, 2016 - Another very impressively aging Oregon Pinot. Purple maroonish color. No sign of bricking. Alcohol and berry preserve on the nose. The palate starts off very ripe and sweet, but the exuberant fruit fades fast and what's left is a nicely balanced and earthy wine with blueberries and forest floor notes. Really enjoyable and held up well over 3 nights which suggests a long life ahead. 12.5% alcohol!

August 29, 2010 - This bottle was the Barrel Boyz bottling. Amazing. Dull red color, with a thin browning at the rim. Quite robust compared with a bottle of the regular cuvee a month ago. Bug aromatics of spice, pine, forest floor, and still a good amount of red and black fruit. Strong nose, and lovely. Palate is medium-full, and while one does get the alcohol and ripeness of the vintage, this wine still has a ton of fruit. It has developed, but I wouldn't call it complex. Palate shows good intensity of fruit, and secondary flavor, still large on the palate, with a medium length finish. Paired wonderfully with lamb loin. This bottle was in no danger to going over the hill anytime soon.

May 25, 2008 - We were not able to decant this wine, although it would of bendfited from more air. With time in the glass, this opened to be quite pleasing aromatically, pine notes, the usual Bednarik spices, some forest floor type notes and a bit of heat. Palate is still strong, good aged pinot fruit, acids carry the still strong fruit, and still a hint of tannin. Long finish. Definiitely still quite masculine in nature, will probably never be a finesse wine, but very enjoyable with "lamb five ways".
