  In Vino Veritas (in wine there is truth; people speak the truth when they are drunk), bottle #123 of my cellar sacrifices. The last of my 2008 Trinchero Petit Verdot. As I said before, I got lucky and found three bottles of this stuff when I was re-orging the cellar recently. This is my third of these bottles and it was just as good as the other two. The age really did it some good because it was still very red and deep in color, with a nice nose and a very smooth finish. I got lucky and found three bottles of this stuff when I was organizing the Cellar recently. The age really did it some good because it was still very red and deep in color, with a nice nose and a very smooth finish. I thought I would compare this to the next wine I will review, as they are both Petite Verdots, but this one blew it away.   February 16, 2018 - I love Petit Verdot! Nice dark purple color. Very dynamic nose. It's musty, with lots of barnyard odors and hints of Macintosh apples and tomatoes. A little high in OH at 14.7%, but nice fruit, which is on the sweeter side. Surprisingly short finish. Definitely at the tail end of the drinking window. I'd buy more and will!
