February 27, 2022 - A blend of mostly Nebbiolo and some Vespolina from northern Piedmont. It is my first encounter with this wine and producer. Decanted and followed over the course of several hours in the Sensory glass.

Pours a beautiful medium ruby with some slight bricking on the edge. On the nose at first there was a little bit of funk that blew off over the course of the first 30 minutes. Asking my wife to smell she first said that she now craved a mushroom risotto and I think that captured the earthy component of the nose quite well. After an hour more tart cherries emerged behind the earth in the aroma. On the palate however, there was very little of the nose to be found and instead the palate was really just dominated by acidity. Not bad or bracing acidity and I found it quite pleasant, but just not much more than the acid save some soft fine tannin on the unfortunately fairly short finish.

I enjoyed this wine and fours it very interesting but perhaps drinking it a bit younger would be better or it is always the case I have had a less than perfect bottle.

    February 26, 2022 - Coravinned out a small tasting
A pale garnet color without much viscosity
Immediately fragrant meaty red plum with some acidity expected.
Still very tannic, dry and oak aged characteristics. Sits lightly but has volume and length. Nice minerals gives it a slightly metalic after taste. Seems like it still requires some breathing for the vintage.
    85% Nebbiolo 15% Vespolina

December 31, 2021 - Mostly acid with a mint finish at this point. Probably over the hill.

January 14, 2021 - Definitely ready to drink, lean cherry, mint and stem notes are surrounded by mild but coating tannins that limit length. As I usually say, identifiable as Italian. Drink now.
