February 18, 2023 - I was completely blown away by this. Crazy as it sounds, it may be the best new world pinot noir I've ever had. I've had my share of Kosta Browne, having been on the list since the 2003 vintage and this is far more impressive than any Kosta Browne Kanzler or any KB for that matter. The nose is so explosive and on the palate so incredibly complex and balanced - so much so that I'm lost with the proper descriptors. I previously had said that the 1998 Kistler Cuvee Elizabeth was the greatest new world pinot ever but this is a different animal. While the Kistler evolved into Grand Cru burgundy, this KB completely stands on its own. Perhaps the most amazing feat is that everyone unanimously agreed it was wine of the night - from friends who were new to wine to sommeliers who tasted it without bias.
June 21, 2022 - Very Nice smooth easy to drink
May 31, 2022 - wow...doesn't get any better than this! opens to perfection after 20 mins...perfect integration...fruit forward profile of course...really smooth silky...blueberries, kiwi, strawberry, spice....perfect long finish.
October 26, 2021 - WIML92
Tasted non blind.
Garnet to dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of Birch, black raspberries and dark plums. Flavors of cranberries, raspberries and cherries. Tart acidity, resolved tannin, full bodied. Drink now.
January 2, 2021 - Big and meaty, lacks the silkiness of great Pinot. The wine still has good fruit and should drink ok for the next 3 years.
September 16, 2020 - I was a litttle worried about this wine bc of the age, but it was fresh balanced and outstanding - paired well w fried rice.
June 10, 2020 - Big bold smoky with smooth fruit and long finish.
March 18, 2020 - Drank with the 08. The 09 still has a bit of time (this year)
February 16, 2020 - Surprisingly still going strong, even after 11 years. Lots of red fruit and alcohol.
November 30, 2019 - Opened up nicely after 30+ minutes in glass. Tart cherry and a bit of cranberry, some leather and forest, a bit of spice.
