March 5, 2019 - Decanted for an hour. This was on par with the Chave and Soldera wines. And for whatever reason the bottle showed more depth and structure than one had last year. The interplay between the sweet dark cherry fruit and Tuscan spices was amazing. To what extent Gambelli was involved in this wine I’m not sure, but at least the nose had a very pure floral sensation similar to the Soldera.

    March 5, 2019 - Poggio Di Sotto burnello 2006
Super floral, dark cherries, minerals, light tar on the nose, very nice, on the palate, texture was round and silky, nice firm tannin but not tannic, layers of purple and dark cherries, modest spices, gentle leather sensation. Compare to the 2006 bottle we had previously, this bottle was in even better conditioning and was exceptional.

January 25, 2019 - Deep dark notes of dark plum, dark red berries, sweet spices, some cinnamon, tobacco leaf, cigar, cedar wood, also some menthol, mint, flowery notes too. It‘s full-bodied, dense and powerful, with excellent mid-palate persistence, pretty high tannin (that is polished) and pretty high acidity. Excellent length. A top-notch Brunello of the highest level.

December 1, 2018 - From magnum, decanted for a good hour.
Nice red fruited nose, soft yet expressive, light touches of mocha, light oaky dynamic but all nicely add tot he wine. Well round and silky on the palate, nice density of fruit and good level of depth, good signs of a secondary side. Solid wine lovely 92 and drink sooner than later.

August 17, 2018 - Friday Night Double Blind Tasting $40+ (Bin 75): Duller maroon color, see through; slight peanut shells, funkier nose, red apple skin, ripe, strong acid, super elegant tannins, tanned leather, acid not matching up with the rest of the wine at this stage; usually a huge PdS fan but this small taste did not wow this evening (others voted it WOTN), did it see enough air?
