July 24, 2021 - {screwcap, 14.5%} Deep garnet, with some of that oranging of the colour at the rim. Developing, malt, mint, spearmint, dark chocolate. Not sweet. Coconut oak, American surely. Medium/full body, but polished, low/medium powdery tannins, low medium acid too. Lovely on opening, fades a bit quickly over the next hours. Medium length finish at best. If you love Oz mint, this hits the spot. No need to keep further.

March 25, 2018 - Decanted for 1 hour. I put it back in the bottle to breath for a further 4 hours. Very nice wine. A little hint of turps, petrol & cinnamon on the nose. The taste was lovely. My palate sang a song as the wine was gliding over my tongue. The wine was well balanced & soft that finished with medium tannin's & jam. There was a hint of grass & dew with soft blackberries. Overall a very nice wine.

February 18, 2011 - 2011 Sydney Royal Wine Show - Exhibitor's Tasting (Olympic Park, Homebush): Bronze medal {screwcap} Sure, I’m not tasting blind, but I’m convinced the overt mintiness of Lawsons is identifiable from the first sniff even with a raging head cold. This is an absolute festival of nasal peppermint, in the richest possible vein. There are jubey, minty flavours on the palate, along with a fizz of pepper, quite a lot of chalky tannins and medium acidity. And although medium-bodied in weight, there’s a sort of hollowness to the medium-length finish which lacks generosity. A shorter-term wine if you like the somewhat extreme style.
