October 18, 2018 - Pnp (actually unscrewed and poured) through Vinturi at 59 degrees. Dark blackberry and leather on nose. Deep crimson color with no bricking. Supple, round mouthfeel with amazing persistance on the palate. Good acidity. Dead ringer for a modern-styled mid-$40 Bordeaux blend (no clue of actual blend since it seems like winemaker wants to keep it a secret). Absolutely mindblowing for a whopping $14. No clue why people sleep on South African wines but I am 1000000% on board given my experience with various wineries (raats, meerlust, boekenhoutskloof, Radford dale). Crazy value in my opinion.
91 points; purchased from winebid in September 2018 for $14 (includes premium and prorated shipping)
January 19, 2017 - Big, plummy, with hints of chocolate but not overdone. Decently long finish with quite good complexity. Tannins still a little chewy. Will likely improve further with time. Excellent.
May 21, 2016 - From a wine bar. Drinks great would like to try it from a more suitable glass and maybe from a good couple of hours in a decanter.
February 24, 2014 - Weekly tasting group #108; Biological wines (@ CvR): Perfumed bouquet with minerals, chocolate, vanilla, coffee, mocha and toast. On the palate a firm amount of sweetness, chocolate, sweet spices, eucalyptus, good acidity and creamy tannin. A bit special, but overall a beautiful and tasty wine.
October 13, 2013 - consistent with previous experience
October 4, 2013 - Notes, of plum, cassis, cedar, vanilla on the nose similar palate, which I while quite smooth has a substantial grip , medium intensity and finish
June 20, 2011 - Very nice, a bit difficult to ondo the blend.
