September 1, 2017 - A Night to Remember - Don and Sally's 50th Wedding Anniversary (Don and Sally's Home): Pale salmon color. Soft, round, deeply flavored. Wafting nose of subdued red and orange fruits.

September 1, 2017 - Pale garnet, bordering on tawny like colour. Still showing some fruit, of the bruised, stewed variety. Really classic fine cigar box / tobacco flavour on the end. Clearly past its prime but with lots of tertiary character and still very enjoyable to drink.

August 29, 2017 - Gitter's 50th Bday Dinner (Marino Ristorante): Killer bottle! Maybe WOTN.

  • EricDilda Likes this wine: (92 points)

July 28, 2017 - Amazingly still there. Lost back end structure, but still has fruit. Prune, black cherry, and raisin. Good wines can still be made in bad years.

June 11, 2017 - All the 67's opened together and 30 minutes ahead and lasted for 3+ hrs.

Trotanoy (1 bottle; 93 pts) - best showing and liked by all, with most structure and complexity; earthy and a hint of mint
    Palmer (DQ) - oxidized
L'Evangile (2 bottles; 90-91 pts) - lighter version the Trotanoy
Gruaud Larose (1 magnum) (91 pts) - like it better than the L'Evangile as it was more complex
Cheval Blanc (4 bottles) (91-94 pts) - likely bottle variations even though all is top shoulder; one of the 4 showing great complexity, while the other ones were lighter version
Vieux Chateau Certan (3 magnums) (91-92 pts) - all is bottom neck; better than the L'Evangile and can be as good as the Cheval Blanc
