Community Tasting Notes 13

February 13, 2022 - PnP with a shake decant to impart a bit of air. Delicious from the start but did not seem to improve much over 2.5 hrs of drinking. Beautiful color and texture, oak has integrated. Definitely Howell Mountain, plenty of verve but precise, balanced in fruit and earthy notes.

August 14, 2021 - 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot. 14.5% abv. I let it breathe in the glass for an hour. Nicely balanced wine--not too ripe and not too acidic. Polished with midly puckering tannins and a long juicy finish. Concentrated. Leather, graphite and dark fruit notes. I really don't have much to add beyond the reviews below. Like many good cabs, it only got better over the course of the evening. So I second the notes below that you should plan to let this beathe 90 minutes before enjoying.

April 2, 2021 - Dream Trip - Napa On A Mission - All My favorites Plus A Few New Ones; 4/1/2021-4/4/2021 (Napa Valley): What a beautifully aged wine. It was such a treat to be able to taste the first vintage of Las Posadas and after tasting the most recent vintage, the learnings have been meaningful. Like most wines on the trip we didn't get to sit with this wine for any length of time but it is already showing prominent secondary and some solid tertiary notes of leather, cigar, sweet earth coupled around both dark red and some black fruit with a solid mineral core. A treat to taste and experience.

September 18, 2020 - Lots of minerality and blue fruits with firm tannins and lingering finish. Very smooth and good armony. While I was expecting a bit more, it may be a lack of breathing time (30 min decant and consume 2 hours later).

Drink or hold for another 10+ years.

January 8, 2020 - Very good. Took 90 minutes to really open up, still quite youthful.
