March 30, 2024 - In a stellar place. This Syrah is firing on all cylinders and expressing along the entire spectrum. Fruit, flowers, herbs, smoke and meat. Engaging complexity on the nose and the palate. Had over 4 hours and it remained strong and vibrant throughout with plenty of acidity to carry the day. Seems to be in the middle a great window.
Drink now for the kaleidoscope, hold for further development at the cost of such vibrancy.

December 19, 2022 - PnP. Deep, plum appearance in the glass, suggesting rich black/blue fruits. Mouth yields great depth of dark fruits, with a slight hint of chocolate. Tannins are fully resolved. The wine is quite uplifting, despite its age. Finish is long and satisfying. I'm holding another bottle, but no rush to drink.

December 21, 2019 - Sampler. Meaty, soy sauce, some funk. Fine powdery tannins.

May 19, 2015 - Tuesday Night $20-$40 Double Blind (Bin 75): Black core with dull dark reddish purple rim; meaty, leather, super dark fruit, violet; leather, violet, dark berry, wild, a certain plushness to the tannin, tobacco, cocoa, very little acid making this seem brooding and top heavy, cedary tannin, blueberry, blackberry, high toned finish; was on Eric & Joel Durand initially then left, others in Australia; a modernly styled N. Rhone in a vintage where acidity was lacking...2nd coming of 2003 in my opinion, don't understand huge scores here; couldn't finish more than a taste or two.

December 6, 2014 - Fruity with great aromas. Still way too young.
