November 28, 2019 - Light translucent ruby. Nice and ripe and spicy on the nose. Very appealing after 30 mins with some swirling in the glass. Clean, ripe and healthy sour cherry fruit with some lovely soil and leafy notes. Ripe but still lovely and fresh with decent length and sapiness. Great value and easy to enjoy.

August 4, 2017 - Rustic, beef broth, crimson colored, faded fruit, not very appealing.

March 31, 2014 - Best bottle yet. 2009s have been drinking great lately and this is no exception. The vintage seems to have shed the very ripe fruit and gained a lot elegance over the past 6 months and it has certainly benefited this wine. Elegant cherry fruit, a nice herbal component - showing much more secondary than I would expect at the age of 5. Very tasty!

February 9, 2014 - Monthly Tasting Group: Cote de Beaune (The Lynn on Bryant, Mpls, MN): Dark red color. PNP, drank 1 glass over 60 minutes. This was quite floral with nice fruit, raspberry and dark cherries, good minerality, nice texture, tannins are a bit firm now, medium plus finish. 90+(+)pts. .

November 15, 2013 - I somehow ended up opening another bottle of this in its early age - good news is that it is still open for business and quite satisfying as well. Showing very earthy initially and then plumping up a bit with more air and showing some purple N Rhone like fruit. Good balance and herbaceous notes make this quite interesting and satisfying - showing less primary than what one would expect. Not a classic burgundy but still very nice to my taste.

August 12, 2013 - First of three bottles. On day one, it showed a lot of elegance and earthiness. A touch of smoke and solid minerality. After spending most of the 2nd day on the counter, it revealed a lot more cherry fruit as well as more fine grained tannins. Enjoyable both nights, but probably not revealing everything that it's got at this juncture.

June 12, 2013 - Very primary and youthful but more approachable than the 09 Roumier Morey 1er cru at this stage. Lovely perfume, balance a classy wine with a good future but yet to unveil its secrets.

May 7, 2013 - Quite young. Tight and backwards. Didn't begin to show until day 2. Nice progression from sous bois to silky cherries, rhubarb, and red licorice. Worthy of a revisit. Needs at least 7 more years.

January 27, 2013 - Restrained nose, though invitingly complex, with cranberry compote and faint baking spices. Tart cranberry on the palate, but at present, not giving up much else. Well- made in every respect, and nicely balanced, but for now, youth is problematic. 3 years will do wonders, 5 a world of difference and 7 a likely profound d change. Hope to have a few then!
