January 10, 2016 - very nice wine. Lead pencil and soft vanilla and cream aromas. More acid on the palate too than the previous two wines.

March 16, 2014 - Monthly Wine Group: Domestic Cabs and Blends (Bloomington Chop House, Bloomington, MN): Drank 2 oz glass over 15 minutes. This was interesting, didn't know what it was til after. Was surprised by the amount of oak and butteriness when revealed as Verdejo. Certainly drank as a Cali chard, mellowed significantly in glass. Good orchard fruits, round and dense on the palate with some lift. Nice finish.

October 7, 2013 - Blind tasted, which was just too hard. Light nose of orange zest, white flowers, slate. Oak on the palette with moderate plus acidity, apple, stone peach, vanilla, butter. I guessed Sonoma Chard. Other guesses were Riesling and Chard.

June 10, 2013 - Warm summer night one year later. Still going strong, blending oaked chard character with bright, expressive verdejo. Great with an ecletic, multi-ingredient salad. Would repurchase if I see it again.

December 24, 2012 - - Yellow color and aromas of black pepper. It's balanced and has flavours of butterscotch, lemon, peach and almond with a full body. Oily texture with a long finish.

August 5, 2012 - This is really nice stuff for the money. Nice roundness of the palate with good depth. Fresh and balanced for the concentration. Great Chardonnay alternative. Solid B+

June 10, 2012 - Really enjoyed this on a warm summer evening. Has an interesting fruit (orchard plus citrus) weight coupled with mineral acidity. The weight and depth of flavor may be from the ancient vines. Lacks finesse and textural complexity, but for a verdejo, this is the bomb, even has a critter on the label.

March 13, 2012 - Overall a pleasant wine, but modern in style - the big heavy bottles always mean wood. In this case the oak is not overwhelming, but it tends to homogenize the taste. Nice bouquet and dry. Much better cold as the oak sticks out more with warming.
