August 26, 2023 - Great, intense nose of black cherry, raspberry and flowers. Lush on the palate. Can use an hour to open up. Still youthful.

May 9, 2021 - 1/12. Bought a case off the back of a fantastic showing of a single bottle we picked up last summer. Today's bottle didn't sing quite like that first one but was nonetheless delicious. One hour decant before lunch then drunk with garlic chicken cooked on the bbq. This is a Grenache dominant CNDP and that clearly comes through in the aromas and flavours. There is good intensity and complexity to this wine with some secondary character but still plenty of primary fruit. Great value for money and will drink well over the next decade.

August 30, 2020 - Deep purple in appearance with no sign of age. Confected cherries, cough medicine, cola and dried herbs on the nose. Very smooth and silky on the palate with good tannic structure. Flavours of cherries, confected fruits and a touch of cedar. Decanted an hour before lunch which was beneficial and we drank the last two glasses six hours later and it was absolutely blossoming. A great wine in a really great place right now and with plenty of life ahead of it.

February 27, 2019 - It seems the older I get, fewer and fewer CdP's float my proverbial boat and this is one of the many. It's a fair representation and well-crafted, but I feel like I can find this same enjoyment in many wines half the price. Open/closed, dumb/smart, who know's? But it's too much work to figure out. Gimme Clos or Beau... then we'll talk ;)

October 9, 2017 - Consumed over two days. I'm not getting as much fruit as prior notes suggest. What there is, is dark rather than red. Nonetheless, I like this (if not at this price). Espresso, a hint of chocolate, spice, leather.

May 28, 2016 - The wine is very good, but I expected better integration at this point. There were some excellent lavender and red cherry notes that clashed somewhat with some of the spicy tones on the palate. I enjoyed the wine, but perhaps it needs some more time in the bottle. Hold these for a couple years?

December 24, 2015 - Consumed over the course of two days. Still a very, very young wine. If I had more bottles, I would not touch them for another five years.

Classic CDP kirsch favors emerged on day two. Not sure it's worth the price of admission, low on the QPR scale.

August 26, 2015 - A medley of dark red fruit, licorice, tea, forest floor, and charcoal. The nose is spectacular once you give this a couple of hours to open up. Deep & rich on the palate; a wine that draws you in emotionally. Take your time with it. The reviews from 2012 & 2013 found this in a closed/dumb phase. Give it another go now – its shining, and expect it to for many years.

August 15, 2014 - Muted nose and palate—not much of any nose or flavors whatsoever, save some subtle but pleasant berry flavors. Interestingly, even with almost no fruit present, the wine remains quite balanced with good structure, finishing with a hint of heat which is expected in a southern rhone. I suppose this is in a dumb phase. You can tell its a well made wine, there's just nothing there at the moment except a balanced structure. Hard to explain!

May 22, 2014 - From 100 year old vines, this stunner serves up a delicious blast of fresh, sweet, ripe and over ripe black cherries, jam and garrigue. Full bodied, rich and plush, drink now for its young, vibrant qualities, or age it a few years for a softer experience.
