December 25, 2015 - Big, jammy, fruity, dark and intense. Very lush and complex. I was worried that I held onto it too long, but it did not disappoint.
February 10, 2014 - Our last bottle. Rats! No meal, just a weekend sipper. Super fruity as expected. Full, chewy mouth-feel. Wonderful aroma. Sticks to the glass. We keep this for those times when we want something "over the top" and this lived up to our expectations. Gotta find more.
November 10, 2013 - My, oh my. This is one big jammy Zin. Berries galore, a bit of cocoa, soft tannins and baking spices on the finish. If you like 'em jammy, this one is for you. I'd let it set for an hour after opening or decant, but drink up because it will be flat on day 2.
September 5, 2013 - Drank this over the course of 3 nights and really enjoyed it. Well worth the price. Wouldn't mind getting some more
June 4, 2013 - This wine is full bodied, but I wouldn't call it a fruit bomb. Its got some complexity, structure, and does a reasonable job in masking the alcohol. A great value Zin.
May 28, 2013 - This is not your everyday wine. A big flavorful Zinfandel from Lodi’s half to century year-old vines. Mature round tannins accenting generous raspberry chocolate, mocha and spice. This zinfandel is truly a delectable expression of Lodi’s signature terroir.
May 4, 2013 - Big jammy fruit-bomb with loads of blackerries and blueberries backed up with some light spice and tar. This was a sipper on a sunny Saturday afternoon - not with a meal. Not necessarily an every day wine, but on those rare occasions when you want something spectaculerly overkill, this is the thing. Wonderful.
January 5, 2013 - This wine, though overly sweet for some palates, is one of great complexity and uniqueness. The nose yields supple dark fruits and notes of red raspberry accented by a touch of sweet oak. On the palate this wine's fruit bomb explodes, throwing forth a number of classic Zinfandel characteristics. A jammy (in all senses of the word) purple and dark red profile with undertones of spice box, mocha and a striking bit of vanilla from an apparent American Oak aging dance beautifully on the palate, performing each one of their acts separately with perfect timing. The finish is long and smooth with the round mouthfeel carrying throughout. This wine, unlike most, gives a pleasant surprise at the very end of the finish. In fact, the flavor actually changes to tart black cherry that lingers for only a second or two before fading into the next sip. My astounding rating of this wine has not been given lightly, in fact, despite its sweetness, I would describe this as one of the best Zinfandel flavor profiles I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. I recommend that you allow your bottle to breathe for about 30 min before tasting. Drink now-2015
December 28, 2012 - Not a big fan of this overly sweet, candied Zin. Won't buy again.
December 4, 2012 - Good fruit, smooth, on the simple side. Opened up more the second night, so you might want to decant this.
