  September 18, 2023 - Seriously surprising. My first wine from the finger lakes; blinded it as a Pinot for a while, even though the color wasn't right for that. No green, just a gentle earthy tobacco (just barely) supporting really pure, fresh, ripe red cherry and touches of baking spice. Tannins are super elegant and integrated; acidity is gentle but present. Felt fairly simple and easygoing, yet present, and harmonious.

  November 10, 2012 - Did a Cab Franc tasting with wines from Laleure (06), a Chinon (11), Maple Ridge (02), Dare (09), Maple Ridge (05), Vermilion (11), Maple Ridge (04) and a Weimer (08). This one rated in the top 3 for most but middle of the road for the rest. Had an odd anise nose and was not a good representation of a typical CF. Was a little hot so it may have been blended with something else.

  July 12, 2012 - Purchased on a lark (love their rieslings)-- nice dark red color, faint nose; nice red fruits and well balanced; more structure than expected but minimal finish. Exceeded expectations.
