September 17, 2023 - Solid complexity for unclassified juice. Black currant, graphite, tobacco, leather. Palate has ample acid to support dark fruit. Substantive minerals and tannins keep the structure. Moderately long finish.

October 2, 2022 - Decanted and drank over two hours improved with air. Still showing great though mature.

June 13, 2021 - I got a bit concerned when I saw some of the more recent “disappointing” notes, and thought I should drink this last bottle ASAP. Displays a dull ruby core, with garnet edges and minor bricking. Medium aromatics and flavors reflecting a mature wine: spicy red currant, dried raspberry, cooked cherry, stewed plum, powdered chocolate, tobacco juice, and decaying leaves. Slightly hollow at mid palate, with structure in tact, but fruit intensity starting to wane. Enjoyed with braised short ribs topped with sesame soy sauce, mashed potatoes, and a garden salad. Medium finish. Better with food than without. Drink now. 89 points.
