January 15, 2020 - Have been waiting to have this wine. Nose is currant jam ... Wanted toast the smell was so amazing. Low tannin with a wonderful long finish. Very solid fruit taste but not overwhelming.
    Drink by 2022

December 27, 2019 - This wine hits you in the front palate and just continues and continues! Classic Rhone blend. All main grapes are well represented in this wine.

October 19, 2019 - 1st of 2 bottles, PnP and consumed w/friends on a road trip to Tiffin.
No formal TN, but this wine has softened a bit with 9 yrs of bottle age, showing a very well-made, reined-in version of GSM fruit, clocking in at 14.5% abv. Kirsch, blackberry pie, espresso grounds, lifted by minty spiciness.
Fairly long finish, with moderating acidity and overall quite delicious. Drink now through 2024+.

September 29, 2019 - Drank this besides a 2010 Beaucastel . It’s a lighter version . But the same dark fruit and grilled meats Great acid balance good finish

September 13, 2019 - Day 1: Pruney porty mess, from opening to decanting and three hours later. Probably 80 if rating. Oddly bottle has been impeccably stored since purchase from Tablas and the cork looked great with the telltale sediment/wine cake on the liquid side with no cracks/leakage. Just a very bad bottle?

Have one more 2010 left and very curious to see what that one is like! Alas, buried in the cellar so can’t compare head to head.

Vac sealed in cellar overnight. Uncorked in morning and slow oxed another 10 hours.

Night 2: finally some candied raspberry and chambord notes emerge to balance out the porty notes which have taken on a beefy quality on the palate but still distracting on the nose. Won’t rate above as I’m guessing this needs a 48 hour decant? 90 otherwise.

July 28, 2019 - I think this wine is still too young to drink. Nice wine, but not the blow-away wine I am used to and I think it needed a longer decant and more aging overall.

July 20, 2019 - After the fruit showed an initial raisined note, it seemed to brighten up and ultimately show greater freshness than I expected. Great weight and balance to this wine and quite enjoyable.

June 21, 2019 - Well reviewed by others. Very ripe raisiny fruit with some interesting secondary character - black olives, garrigue - and sustaining acid. It does seem old world, which I think was the intent. I might have guessed southern France and not Paso Robles, but it is cleaner and without the funkiness you sometimes get from Provence. It’s all working well now and better than several years ago. Dense and raisiny is not my favorite, but this is very well done.

May 27, 2019 - Drinking nicely now, but I would give it a few more years to round out. I feel the various components have not completely integrated yet.
