August 13, 2017 - Decanted for 4+ hours. Heavy sediment in bottle.
This wine is 94% Syrah co-fermented with 6% Viognier, 100% de-stemmed and aged in 35% new French oak for 15 months with only one racking.
Aromas lean on the savory side but shows deep notes of fresh picked Marionberry and smashed blueberry before folding into scents of black licorice, aged meats, exotic spice, turned earth, black olive, toasted oak, vanilla and dried violets.
The palate shows dense fruits of blackberry, plum and blueberry that evolve to reveal notes aged meats, kalamata olives, exotic spice, black licorice, toast, vanilla, oak, crushed dried violets and earth. The moderate tannins are fine and acidity structured. The moderate finish is meaty.

July 15, 2017 - dark nose shows bramble, blueberry, blackberry, smoked meats, black pepper, smoke, plum, and other dark fruits and spices. palate shows much of the same, almost a dark fruit liqueur character, but also adds some black olive. tannins are well integrated, and while youthful, this is drinking well today.

March 11, 2017 - PnD 1/2 of the bottle. Purple haze color - seriously dark dense and cloudy. Fig plums tar and bacon on the nose. Medium weight with silky tannins. Plum blueberry blackberry raspberry tar and violets on the palate. Lingering blue fruits and licorice on the finish. Ripe frsh complex and delicious.

August 26, 2016 - PnP. Huge aroma with Asian spice on both the nose and palate which is full of bramble laced fruit with layers of spice. Great QPR.

February 4, 2016 - Similar notes to last July except it only needed 15 minutes in the glass to open up.
