December 2, 2012 - Something interesting on the nose--cinnamon or sweet a bit? Warm apples? The flavor is good; accessible sweetness and dark, plum fruit. Stands up well to food. Very drinkable well into the night.

October 17, 2011 - OK/Good – clear dark ruby purple appearance; fruit and oak/vanilla on nose; off-dry; mid/high acidity; full body; high tannins; long mouth drying finish; very fruity and oaky; dark fruits (blackberries/dark cherries/black currant) with oaky vanilla flavours. Bit too oaky and tannic. Needs a longer decant as per last time.

August 18, 2011 - This wine is getting better. This particular bottle oddly had lots of sediment however and it's not from age. Will be interesting to see if that happens on my remaining bottles.

August 13, 2011 - Agree with the more effusive note below. Spice and earth on the nose for me, though. On the palate, really pleasant mouthfeel, nice tannins, and a finish that sticks to your tongue. Some dust there, perhaps, and nice tartness. Great value, IMO.

July 8, 2011 - Not as good as the 07, but still a good value at $14. A little thin in the mid-palate and on the finish, but still a wine that has good balance and fruit for its price.

June 16, 2011 - Bought and drunk on a whim. Only $13.99. Popped and poured after a quick chill to cool room temp. Bright, ripe dark berry fruits are apparent on the nose. In the background is some dusty lumber, with just a touch of powdery vanilla. In the mouth, there is ample acids, and juicy fruits. A bit straightforward in flavor profile framed with firm, coating, dusty tannins. Finish is again juicy and medium in length. A decent bottle for a simple weeknight dinner. Not over oaked. No super ripe fruit. No rounded-flabby tannins. Not sure if I would pay more than $15 for this wine, so this does provide decent value.
