November 4, 2021 - Upfront it’s got an almond nuttiness, with tropical fruit and honey on the nose. Palate is initially quite ripe, but with air it unfurls into honied tropical fruit notes, mixed with electric acidity. Style is oxidative but wine is focused. Can’t think of anything more you’d want in a bottle of champagne. Brilliant.

November 3, 2021 - An excellent bottle with only a small degree of the oxidative style. Relatively open knit and ripe. Has terrific yellow apple fruit. Has good maturity with almond and toasted nuts but overall is still clean and bright. I preferred this to the ‘96 tonight although that wine will surely catch up. Very fresh and good example.

August 27, 2021 - Regal top quality evident from the first whiff, Montrachet-like honey aroma, palate gives secondary nuances but the fruit it still abundant. Don't see this getting better with time, drink now and over the next year or two.

July 23, 2021 - Drinking perfectly from magnum. Love the combo of ripe vintage depth of fruit with classic CdM minerality and acid. At or around peak.

July 14, 2021 - In a perfect spot for my taste...still very vibrant and young. Lovely bread, lemon, and pear. Great balance and excellent finish. Wish I had more to drink. If you prefer younger champs then drink up sooner but this has many years ahead to evolve.

Rockss and Fruit

(Krug Clos du Mesnil) The nose was pure heaven. Very floral with salt, minerals, asian spices, nuts and slight green apples. Amazing mousse. Complex as any great white wine I have ever had in my life. Really concentrated but the texture is like the highest end Italian silk. So soft and elegant. Just an amazing balancing act of pure fruit concentrate and nut flavors along with seamless acidity. You almost forget this is sparkling wine it is so even-keeled when you are swishing it in your mouth. I was stunned after my first sip that Champagne could be this good. Long finish that slurps and slides its way down your palate with unbelievable purity and depth. Minerally, nutty, appley finish. Wow!
