January 6, 2024 - brown sugar inflected, a bit surripe / pruny. maybe rich would be an alternative and more charitable assessment. Not a big Voerzio fan these days, everything seems to be advanced.

May 27, 2023 - A good 3 years since we had this last ( Papies 93) and frankly even after a good hour of decanting the wine never got to a the great place we wanted and was a touch dry and lacking the elegance that should have been a given . Not sure if it’s a phase or the bottle but a worrying sign and we do hope time will be kind as we do have a few more! 91 at best

June 6, 2020 - Decanted for a good hour and needed.
This is now getting well into its drinking window and albeit at the start still has a very welcoming side. Textbook aromatics , dark cherry, soft tar and light herby edge. Very solid and well made wine true to Voerzio style which for us is modern classical and what strikes the best balance of the two . Super solid and with a lot of life ahead of it. 93

April 12, 2020 - Nice Barolo but not really showing much nuance or depth and a notably hint of lactic oak notes betray the Barrique upbringing. Not an overdone modernist but I would never take a voerzio over a revello, let alone one of the better houses

March 12, 2020 - WOTN versus a 98 Gaja. Gaja had the stronger perfume of tar anise funk and dark red fruit but the voerzio was so polished smooth feminine and full in the body to finish while the Gaja was brawny a bit too chunky and very tannic.
