December 3, 2023 - Dark red; lots of dark deep red fruit; gentle rounded attack, lots of sun / ripe berries, really rounded / soft, some coffee notes, some spices, a slightly burned impression in the aftertaste; a slightly “cooked” wine, broad and bold, a light port (?); clearly tons of ripe grapes and a very powerful wine, however look elsewhere for finesse; a good wines, however, depending what you are looking for

December 4, 2020 - Bought it in Vila Viniteca during Barcelona tour in 2011. Full body, deep ruby to garnet color. Impressive aroma of black and blue fruits jam complemented by oak, sweet spices and black pepper. Complex palate of sweet cherry, blueberry following by ripe plum on lingering and juicy finish. Rich, powerful and bold but rounding and remarkably balanced, sweet berries acidity and integrated tannins. Food friendly, best match is medium rare meat, tasted with veal steak and baked spicy eggplants. Need aeration, open two hours ahead. Serve 17ºC - 20ºC. Drink now and next six/eight years, perhaps longer.

February 22, 2020 - Nice. Not decanted, drank over three hours. Should have decanted because it got better and better. Drinking beautifully. Had with manchego cheese and Spanish hams. Thick, oaky.

December 13, 2014 - From magnum and decanted for 30 minutes. Forward, very ripe and extracted but thankfully has no stewed fruit or raisiny feel. Rich dark fruits, helpings of oak, purple in colour and full on. Very much a new world wine in style and with the power to match. Not sure how this ages, albeit a 2005 we had recently seemed to have lasted thus far. As with all wines of this style the richness and ripeness just makes them one dimensional. 89 for now.
