Community Tasting Notes 24

October 14, 2016 - Smells of graphite, blueberries, vanilla, and spice.
Medium bodied and a little viscous, there is acid and a hint of alcohol up front, with blueberries, spice, and a mildly bitter woodsy note that finishes dry and mildly tannic.
I appreciate that the wine is not overly fruited, and I don't even mind a simpler wine's virtues, but the perception of alcohol just diminishes my enjoyment of this wine tonight. (85 for my point loving friends)

September 27, 2016 - Tasty blue/dark fruit, eucalyptus, tobacco, and something savory or almost meaty on the nose. Medium body and well-balanced in the mouth. Slightly round on the finish. I'm guessing this is at or near its peak.

March 6, 2014 - Very nice wine typical Waters. Spicy yet mellow mix of cab & merlot. Dark fruit with a very smooth finish.

(Waters Winery Interlude Red Wine Columbia Valley) Aromas of cherry and green olive. The palate is deliciously fresh, full of cherry flavors, bright acidity, and restrained use of oak. A sleek, stylistic wine with a lot of hang time on the finish. 55% Merlot, 44% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Petit Verdot. Cold Creek, Canoe Ridge, and Seven Hills vineyards. Aged in French oak (25% new). 14.5% alcohol. 1,550 cases produced.
