December 31, 2020 - Unbelievable 4 years after "drink by" date. Still smooth and comparable to wines costing much more.

July 28, 2018 - IPNC Weekend 2018; 7/26/2018-8/2/2018 (Linfield College, McMinnville, OR): Medium dark red color. Drank a glass over 20 minutes. This was one of the library wines at the salmon bake. Have not had a Mondavi pinot in some time, in fact maybe never other than at the winery. This was a pleasant surprise. In good shape, nice big dark berry fruits, boysenberry, blackberry, and dark cherries, spicy, some warmth but not in a bad way, sauvage,

November 6, 2015 - Similar to my notes last time -- a heavier fruit-forward (cherry) pinot which held up well to a hearty dish. This improved with air, so I don't see this falling off a cliff anytime soon. Tasty!

April 17, 2014 - PnP, decanted, and drank over 2 hrs. Clear, deep purple in color. My wife had a significant "Robert Mondavi is cheap wine" bias and this won her over - much better wine than expected. This is a heavier med/full body for a pinot, with ripe red fruit of strawberry and raspberry on the nose developing into some black fruit.
The oak is well integrated but still quite present, and the 15% ABV is also integrated well.
A poor QPR at the release price, but not so bad when you can obtain it significantly cheaper.

February 24, 2014 - PnP w/15 min glass time. Clear, deep purple/red color. The wine drank very nicely and better than expected. In perfect drinking window. Med body, extremely smooth and integrated, proper Pinot flavor, nothing off. Wish I had more. Maybe the best Modavi Reserve Pinot I've tasted. Nothing off, $47.
