July 14, 2016 - From a magnum. Good ruby red with slight bricking. Nose takes about 1h to open up to reveal strong notes of tobacco, leather, dusty & dark reddish black cherries, hint of prunes and forest floor. Sweet on attack with ripe dark berries & plums, dark chocolate, medium acidity, no tannins/wood and a perfumed finish redolent of leather and dark violets.

December 17, 2015 - Monthly Tasting Group LTB 2015-09; Classical Italian wines (By HV and FB): In the bouquet red berries, earth, herbs and spices like clove, coffee, graphite and a touch of pleasant barnyard. On the palate juicy red and dark berries, chocolate, earth, herbs and spices, vanilla, medium acidity, slightly drying tannin and some bitterness in the finish. Good length.

September 17, 2015 - Monthly tasting club "The Tasting Club" 2015-06; Tuscany (except Chianti) (@ My place): Red fruits, some spices and barnyard in the bouquet. On the palate juicy red and dark berries, sweet spices, earthy and rustic flavors, medium acidity and pleasant, slightly sticky tannin. Elegant wine. Many in the group were not that enthusiastic and disliked the nose. I nevertheless scored it 89 – 90 Completely ready now and no real hurry.

January 1, 2014 - long to open and express its scents. Then some smoked oak and roasted coffee and moka. Clear secondary scent and taste of pencil. Probably the bottle sufferend from cellaring at low temperature and most scents are lost but the backbone of this Brunello is solid and elegant. Great stuff still. Chez FA/GA and MB/AS at LT

August 17, 2013 - Past its prime. Could have aged prematurely a bit.
