March 15, 2024 - Pop n' Pour - Translucent, cloudy, red color. Strawberry, cranberry and white pepper scents with just a hint of bret/old barrel peeking through on the scent. Bright strawberry flavor with good, well integrated acidity. Light in body but very flavorful and glugable. Seamless on the palate with subtle, ripe, fine-grained tannins and a juicy finish. This has held up well and is very enjoyable. Would go great with goat cheese and fruit spread.

August 19, 2019 - So much fun... This still showed just a bit of spritz upon opening. On the nose this was a bit dirty, very peppery and a nice red fruit nose coming through. On the palate it was light and fun, with great depth. This was a perfect balance of fun and serious wine. Tasted with 3-4 other nice wines and this was almost every bodies favorite.

I was scared that at 10 years it would be past it's prime, but it was still lovely... Heading to the Loire in a few weeks, going to have to track down more of their wine

April 30, 2018 - sweaty, rose petals, some light balsamic.
palate - light body, acidic, band aids, dried leaves, some stewed fruit. Tastes a little over the hill, and the brett is more prominent now than I remember previously.

September 22, 2017 - showing signs of fading, but very nice earthy notes and complexity. The brett is there too, in the background.

May 9, 2015 - Similar notes to 4/19/2014. If you have the Zuni Cafe cookbook and make the Zuni Roast Chicken, you have found your ideal wine pairing. Perfect match, due in part to the modest to light body and the zingy upfront acid that matches the acid in the bread salad while also cutting through the modest amount of fat in the dish (crisp skin, legs, thighs).

January 9, 2015 - The last one had some major VA, but was ultimately kind of awesome. In this one's case, the cork had bled through and the wine had turned.

December 14, 2014 - Didn't get much of this, as it was at the other end of a long table this eve. Was surprised by how syrupy and extracted it was for a PdA. There was some VA upon opening but 60 minutes later it was undetectable.

April 19, 2014 - Enjoyable, versatile, and interesting. Some VA as others have noted, but not off putting, acid (and one taster said vinegar) and meadow flowers in the nose. Bright small red berries. Medium body. Despite the acidity it is not bracing and has a pleasant finish. Has a bit of a classic Pinot Noir feel to it It paired with pasta with basil pesto one night and went very well with rack of lamb the next.

March 12, 2014 - This has a very unique and interesting nose that likely won't be for everyone, but I love it. This has a strong eucalyptus sap note... like you peeled the first few layers of bark off and licked the center of the tree. This is coupled with some white strawberry notes, with the green tops. Nice green aromas, generally. Really lovely light bits of gravel and other minerals. Lovely palate entry, on the lighter side of body, but certainly not the lighter side of intensity or flavor, as this offers tons of smooth texture, really nice acid and tannic balance. As this is held on the tongue, more and more white strawberry notes come in coupled with sweet sweet green bell pepper. The acid continues to slowly build, however never gets too strong; I could hold this on the tongue forever. The more I drink the more I get notes of licorice... aeration really brings this note out, too. Lovely palate. Finish is more linear, with some green bell pepper but mostly just pleasing, seamless acidic attack that lingers some 20+ seconds. Very nice, drinking perfectly today. This has mellowed since my bottle two years ago and is in a fantastic place today.
