August 17, 2021 - Brick orange on the rim. Herbaceous nose. With a hint of pencil eraser and Elmer's glue (no kidding). Good balance of fruit, acid and tannin. Reasonable finish. Not sure it's worth the 40 bucks I paid but I enjoyed it. Drink now.

July 11, 2021 - This wine is very much in the style vein of its creator. For me, it was too much oak and drying tannins for a DOC Rosso di Montalcino. Sangiovese? Check. I missed the high tones here, as it was more black fruited than red fruited. Baby Brunello? Maybe, but I wish it had more <joie de vivre>. Drink up.

January 30, 2020 - Close to the end of its peak. Garnet in colour; notes of sour cherry and leather; tobacco and violets. Lovely.

May 17, 2019 - PNP initially with fine but drying, dusty talents which abated the hour course of dinner. High aromatic complexity with bright red fruits, particularly red current, as well as violet, cedar, leather and mushroom. Med+ flavor and acidity but balanced with medium, fine tanins, which smoothed over the course of drinking. Medium finish. Wine is probably at its peak for drinking, but has the acidity and tannins to continue to evolve for at least a few years. It complemented the veal milanese perfectly, which was lightly sprinkled withfresh lemon, because this delicious Rosso has bright, but not overpowering, flavors and high acidity. Wish I had more than one bottle left of this food friendly wine.

February 24, 2018 - P&P, with pasta & meatballs. Dusty cherries, reasonable weight of fruit with a nice dry, gently tannic tail. Exactly what I was looking for with the food, and excellent QPR.

July 21, 2017 - With roast sirloin, audouzed 1hr. In line with my previous note, earthy baked cherries with a juicy line of acidity. Great typicity, good QPR at £12.

September 19, 2015 - Definitely a "second" wine. Pretty brutal in its impact. Very barnyard, and still some very dry finish. Good with some hearty food, and still great fun for the price. But not getting any better and feels like time to drink up.

July 31, 2015 - Nice concentration, deep and extended on the palate, gives a real sense of the terroir. Definitely one of the best rossos.

August 15, 2014 - 2-hr decant. Cherry, Bazooka bubble gum, spice, leather, balanced acidity. The heat that was present in 2012 is gone. Much improved. Even on day 3 under vacuum, this was going strong. A gram or so of sediment. Drinking great now, probably has 10 years of life left.
