November 27, 2014 - Deep burgundy, almost opaque. Ripe plum, chocolate, espresso on the nose. Really opened up in the glass. This was a big, mature Merlot. Rich and dense, still with some grip.

March 26, 2012 - Much more tannic than we expected. Opened up after about 45 minutes. Chocolate/espresso on the nose. Great value.

June 16, 2011 - Deep purple color with a nice scent of blueberry on the nose. This is not your typical Cali fruit bomb merlot. It has a fair amount of structure and some drier tannins that would benefit from a few hours in the decanter. the wine still has plenty of juicy fruit and a medium to long finish. Enjoy!!!

April 19, 2011 - Beautiful chocolate on the finish. Opened up after about 30 minutes... still seems a bit tight. Wish I had another bottle to test in a year or so.

February 20, 2011 - Started off "cooked" tasting then opened up after 1/2 hour and became very good, with still a lingering cooked flavor but much better than it began.

November 27, 2010 - only one bottle left and wishing i had more. Opened upnicely after30 minutes in the decanter. Very warm, luxurious, dark fruit forward witha nice chocolat finish. Much longer than it drank a year ago...wishing I waited. Paired with steaks - help up very nicely to a spicy rub. Grilled raddicio (tart) did well with this wine too. I think everything Grgich makes stands out.

May 8, 2010 - Wine was surprisingly very dry, hearty, ready to drink now. Pair with anything moist and flavorful. Excellent with medium burger and mozzarella on focaccia bread.
