April 17, 2017 - Double decanted 1-1/2hrs. Black center to deep purple edge. A bit of funk initially that blew off quickly. Tightly wound. Not giving up much in the glass for 1-1/2. It started to open up with black fruits (blackberry and currents) and a light perfume. Well balanced with a bit of tannin. Med finish. These should see a lot of air on opening or rest for many more years.

March 25, 2017 - 4th Saturday Group brown bagger: Double blind. Opaque inky color. Aromas of vanilla, brown sugar and black fruit with toasty, oaky overtones. Flavors of blackberry, cassis and vanilla. Guessed petite.

May 16, 2016 - Very dark purple to the edge. Decanted 2-1/2 hrs. Tannic and hard on opening. After a few hours nose of brambly blackberry and black currents. Some wood and a light perfume. Still tannic but balanced the fruit nicely. Same blackberry and currents. Reminded me a little of a good "mountain" cab. Medium to long finish. Drinking well now but long life ahead.

April 25, 2015 - Nose of blackberry, tar, chocolate, stews prunes. Taste of tar, blackberry and chocolate. Served with buffalo pie, rice and green beans. A balanced, smooth wine with very gentle tannins with deep black fruit flavours. Have to go back to Lytton Springs to buy another bottle.
