August 6, 2020 - Not sure where this came from, gift? Literally got a small saw to get through the triple dipped wax and the cork exploded with like two twists as if this was from 1938, not 2008, and it eventually fell through into the bottle. A Durand may not have been able to save this. Heated Port tongs? This was the vinous embodiment of 2020.

My reward? A massive, extracted, oaky mess. The blend really doesn't seem to be complimentary to the different grapes and is more of a "wall of sound" that was blended to make it as big as possible. In that sense, it handles the alcohol reasonably well, but it finishes with grainy wood tannins. There's an audience for this style of wine, I'm just not it. This felt like a rougher version of a Jonata "Todos" that I had several years back.

March 5, 2016 - Still a big wine. Lots of fruit and structure here. Peak drinking!

December 5, 2015 - Big wine. Dark color with black fruit and a well integrated finish.

February 17, 2015 - Coming together nicely - all the parts finally starting to blend into a cohesive whole. The backbone of acidity is the anchor that holds the rest of the pieces in place. Kind of an odd duck blend, but works nicely with food - in this case smoked brisket.
