January 19, 2024 - The wine showed animal and candied sensation with sweet palate. Palate lacked depth and weight for a grand cru. Uncertain about its authencity. To me, the juice was Gevrey village wine.

October 26, 2020 - Served a bit too cold perhaps at near cellar temp, but still quite lovely and elegant with red strawberry fruits dominating a lighter, brighter and surprisingly less ripe wine then the vintage would predict.

A very nice wine in its own right, but admittedly was overshadowed tonight by the Jadot 1996 Richebourg and the 1998 Hudelot-Noellat Richebourg as this came across a bit less expressive regarding Vosne spices and had a very slight sour citrus element on the finish. I had better experiences with this wine, so suggest a warmer serving temp and a decent decant. If anything, this needs time based of tonight's experience.

October 25, 2020 - My Birthday Weekend; 10/23/2020-10/25/2020 (Chicagoland IL): Also served double blind, this was clearly of Grand Cru pedigree with elegant Vosne stylings, but with some rugged elements that almost seemed bitter on the finish. Not quite as seamless as the previous bottles of Richebourg that evening. Also oddly lean for a 2003, but clearly built to last. Still very dense and enjoyable, although I’ve previously enjoyed other bottles of this wine more.

August 10, 2020 - Notes of cherries and meat. Very intense fruit framed by fine tannins. The ripe medicinal cherry and licorice character is very 2003. It is not a profile that I care for, but this wine is undeniably long. This bottle can endure a lot of oxidation. It was vibrant and more pliant from the re-corked and gassed bottle days later.

March 9, 2019 - La Paulée de New York Gala Dinner (Pier Sixty - New York NY): In 00/01/03 vertical, this was the star. Cornucopia of black and red fruit with impressive density, yet also finesse. Both sweet and savory spice. Very long, persistent finish.

March 3, 2018 - La Paulée de SF Gala Dinner (Fairmont Hotel, SF CA): An epic nose of rich, leathery black cherry. Wow, so much rich, concentrated black cherry that is laced throughout with baking spice. Not at all hot or roasted. Likely the best '03 Burg I've tasted.
