June 22, 2019 - Still big and inky. Somewhat primal but open enough to enjoy. Juicy blackberry, cherry chapstick, vanilla, olive brine, and some rustic herbs. Needs 3-4 more years.

June 13, 2019 - Inky. Closed now. This is young, primary and smelling of the pip. Not as enjoyable as the older wines. Ther is weight to the fruit and it is enlivened by the acid.

December 26, 2018 - Still quite youthful, with rich, dark fruit and pleasing chocolate notes. Should continue to evolve beneficially for several more years.

December 19, 2018 - Drinking quite well right now. Still a deep ruby with garnet hue. Black currant, cassis, chocolate and mint with cedar, graphite, leather, licorice and baking spice. There is an overarching aroma of sweet oak. Full bodied with well integrated sweet tannins (there is still some tannin to shed). On the palate the sweet oak and cassis with chocolate covered mint is most prevalent. Nice finish. Decanted (some sediment) for 1-hour and enjoyed over 3-hours.

(Leonetti Cellar Cabernet Sauvignon Walla Walla Valley) Locked up tightly with dark cherries, raspberries, spice, incense, dry chocolate, scorched earth. The palate is a showstopper, rich and opulent, packed full of dark fruit flavors, tightly wound tannins, and a coil of rich fruit flavors. Give this two years or more but this is a wine for the ages – perhaps the winery’s best of this last decade. 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 4% Carmenere, and 1% Malbec. Aged 22 months in new and neutral French oak. Mill Creek Upland, Loess, and Seven Hills vineyards. 2,760 cases produced.
