July 6, 2019 - Going threw the cellar came across this wine which i haven't reviewed here , from the Colonial Est guys. Its a GSM type wine, Cork Closure.Deep Ruby in colour with a garnet rim at July 2019. Mature
On opening we have maturing ripe GSM style with that old vine Barossa savoury complexity of Plumbs, prunes an earthy mature characters. Ready in my opinion as you would except. v/good for age and clean
On the palate we have maturing sweet fruit upfront similar flavours to above, mature lite mid palate richness and soft mature tannins with strong alc.15% heat kick on back palate, meaning it's ready and on the decline. Drink up if u have , but a v/good effort in good vintage.
Goes well with rare filet and pepper sauce.

December 24, 2018 - Rwally enjoyed this bottle of wine.
I don't know if it'll last any longer.
I think sometime this year would be good.

August 9, 2018 - Ok first up but fell apart in a short time later. Grenache seemed over the hill, producing some raisens and oak heavy liquor. 2009 vintage was ripe and not suited to aging thia style of wine. Next day tipped out.

June 9, 2018 - Not sure why this is listed as a Shiraz blend, it's majority Grenache, and sold as such in Australia. Maybe the exported bottles don't have the same back label. The winery seemed to run into a spot of difficulty a few years back and a great deal of Colonial stock was picked up by Get Wines Direct in Melbourne and sold off cheaply. Cellared since purchased in 2011. The wine is pouring a light red colour (no brick) and retains the characteristic spicy BV Grenache nose. Spice and red berry fruit on the palate, finishes quite long. Still an attractive, full bodied wine with structure, acid and fruit in good balance and will certainly hold for up to five years.

May 19, 2018 - Slightly over the hill, salty and boring. Gross old style barossa from bad vintage that was left too long. Easy to describe :)
