Community Tasting Notes 30

April 24, 2023 - Darker garnet color. Nose of cassis, red current, cedar. Layers of currant and dark plum on the palate with earth and tobacco notes. Lower acidity and firm tannin. Medium length finish of dark plum and currant, with earthy undertones. Good enough but lacking in any wow factor. From a half bottle consumed at Willow Beach Campground near Lake Mead.

January 31, 2023 - Very enjoyable. Medium bodied and silky; tasty dark fruits dominate, with just a touch of coffee/earth tertiary flavors.

April 25, 2022 - Lots of clean, ripe merlot fruit, some vanilla, and a minty-almost-licoricey note. Fully resolved but not at all faded. A nice bargain bin find.

October 30, 2021 - Full bodied for St. Emilion. Complex dark fruit w good structure. With decanting maintains initial fruit but more back end of earthiness.

July 11, 2021 - This was a good wine tonight with grilled pork. Wish I had opened it a few years ago and enjoyed it at its best. Earthy with some dark fruit and medium tannins. Very little nose.
