March 8, 2021 - Decanted for sediment. Med (+) ruby to garnet on the rim. Mature, but surprising in its intensity and vibrancy. Med (+) aromas of tart black fruit, dried cranberry, dried roses, earth, forest floor, mushrooms, pencil shavings and oak spice. Dry, with plenty of fruit left. Med (+) to high acidity, med (+), drying tannins and high but well-balanced alcohol (14%). Full-bodied, with med (+) to high flavor intensity and length, with a tarry finish of licorice, tobacco and botanical herbs. It has several years and may yet benefit from more aging. It completely dominated the hearty, slow cooked beef stew that I paired it with.

January 18, 2020 - Ripe red fruit, some mineral and herbs, a touch of tar, silky and round. A very enjoyable mature Barolo.

February 11, 2019 - Really gorgeous round Barolo. Ready now but not old in any way.

September 15, 2013 - Plenty of tannins left in this so no hurry. Slow-oxed most of the day and it helped. The darkest of the lineup in our Barolo tasting and clearly the best if the bunch. Notes of tobacco and cherry. Great depth on the midpalate and medium to long finish. This is a very nice Barolo with a long life ahead of it.

July 9, 2011 - Good but not a great Barolo in my opinion. Wait for another five years because the wine still got some massive hard tannins. Great nose with some cedar woord, spices and cherry. And on the pallet the attack of the tannins begins.... A wine you almost have to chew on. 90 points to start with and we´ll see in 2016.
