December 4, 2019 - Still drinkable, but there was something off about this bottle. Decanted and gave it an hour of air time, but just not what I remember. Past its prime I'm afraid.
January 21, 2014 - Nice all around. Tastes of dark fruits, black berry, dark cherry. Just the right amount of tannins.
August 1, 2013 - Showed wonderfully at a tasting, but did not fare as well with dinner. Decent enough fruit, with candied cherry, blackberry and strawberry, tinged with smoke, pepper and vegetal notes. Just not a great finish, almost medicinal.
March 22, 2013 - Had one prior bottle that was lovely. Like some others, this one had a distinct off note which dissipated with time out of bottle. Tight and tart, opens up with red berries after 30 mins or so
January 13, 2013 - Popped and poured. Plum and blackberry on the nose, with some dry leaves or garrigue. Palate offers cranberry or lingonberry, sweet spices, medium tannins. This is the last of six bottles - my previous notes show a lot of bottle variation, which is worrying. The best have been spectacular, but the average (like this one) merely OK for the price.
January 1, 2013 - A slight bitterness in the finish blew off as the wine opened up. Good with seared lamb chops. Not as enjoyable as the 2010, but a nice wine.
November 18, 2012 - over-ripe, over-extracted, too much alcohol, over the top. tastes more like an australian gsm than something from the southern rhone. not my style. over time, as it decanted, the heat dissapates, and secondary flavours appear. still not a re=buy.
November 9, 2012 - First time having this wine. Blackberry and currant. Unispiring and average.
October 28, 2012 - Peppery strawberry flavours which I normally enjoy are just a bit much in this wine. Acidity also high so this will likely be much better in a year or two.
September 25, 2012 - Lots of sweet fruit on the nose reminiscent of strawberry twizzlers. The sweet fruit follows through on the palate ending with a short finish. Not my style.
