June 17, 2021 - Very rich California cab just now beginning to develop some secondary notes. Pencil box, hint of cassis. Still has a strong tannic backbone and could use a minimum of an hour of air.

December 17, 2017 - Still not ready. Decanted for an hour but still quite closed.

December 14, 2016 - This just isn't quite ready for prime drinking yet. The bottle is enjoyable now, but the fruit remains still closed down a bit. I remember trying this at the release party and it was such an exuberant, well-structured wine, but it closed down within a few years and hasn't fully reemerged yet. Opening my next bottle in 2019. Rameys often take a long time to reach their ideal drinking window.

November 25, 2015 - Nice wine, but we have had better Cabernet's for less. May need more time to age to fully develop. Had with lasagna.

November 8, 2013 - Big classic Napa wine. A bit of oak lingers on mid palate and finish. Wish I waited 3-5 more years before opening this bottle. Will be 90-93 points in future but for now just an 80+$ bottle of wine I wish I held on to.

April 21, 2013 - The 2009 is the fourth release and it's composed of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon from Rutherford and Diamond Mountain along with 17% Petit Verdot from the Pedregal Vineyard in Oakville. It's dense and concentrated, offering aromas and flavors of ripe black cherries, sweet cassis, herbs, licorice, spices and even fresh floral notes work their way into this beauty. Full-bodied and powerful, supported by muscular tannins and a long mouth-coating finish that leaves behind loads of dark fruits. The wine spent 24 months in all new barrels, after which it was bottled without filtration. (Best 2016-2026)

April 3, 2011 - From barrel sample, excellent wine. Classically dry, oak not as apparent as some annums in the past. Full bodied, balanced, and elegant. Excellent.
