November 6, 2022 - Cull Party 2022. For me, the biggest disappointment. Nasty nose, DNPIM, though not obviously identifiable flaw like TCA, oxidation or biologic decay. Verey saturated cork and some ullage. There's one more bottle for the next cull party.

March 7, 2020 - Don't write this wine off yet. This bottle was simply glorious. Fully mature but by no means feeble. Lovely, velvety mouthfeel, tannins well and truly resolved. Rich, a tad feral, but I swear it seems younger than the 1990. On the short side, but while it's in the mouth, it offers everything you could hope for from a 50-year-old cru bourgeois.

November 5, 2019 - Obituary: 1970 Bordeaux: Drinkable but weak and clearly OTH, not surprising for a Cru Bourgeois St. Estèphe at almost half a century. On the positive side, the color is good and it’s mildly pleasant if you want to be generous. Still, just too tertiary and the acidity is too high.

November 22, 2017 - Mid shoulder fill, certainly a high-risk bottle. I think this one survived. There was definitely still fruit on the nose and some energy left. The colour was plenty dark. A bit funky and old, perhaps leather or forest floor. Not bretty though. Smooth on the palate with mostly resolved tannins. Definitely a nice wine to try as an intellectual exercise but not hedonistic or intellectual really.

July 20, 2013 - Vin merveilleux et profond, nez classique, fruit très présent encore, alcool, corsé, épicé, humus, terre, cuir, très beau rubis de la robe. Excellent.

December 19, 2005 - Deep ruby red, suprisingly youthful color. Lovely bouquet of wet earth, leather and mushrooms. Still decent fruit although light body with little tanins left. A bit light on the palete and the finish but all in all a very pleasant claret which is drinking well but perhaps beginning to decline. Drink up.
