August 7, 2021 - Corked; kept at cellar temp
May 5, 2019 - A subtle strawberry and spice nose. Rich, textured fruit, cherry, strawberry, tarragon. Fine, polished tannins. Crisp acidity, perfectly balanced. The fruit darkens on the long finish with smoky notes. Beautiful wine. Will drink well for another 4 or 5 years.
March 20, 2019 - Gorgeous nose, rich aromas of blackberry and cherry. Intense, polished fruit on the palate, currants, strawberries, cherries. Firm, polished tannins, great acidity, fabulous balance. Long, long finish of spice and dark fruits. Short term aging has served this wine well. Will probably drink well for at least another 5 years.
August 11, 2018 - Dinner at Finistere in Port Townsend. Pinot was good out of the gate. PnP. Aroma and palate the same, savory notes with sage and dark fruit, smokey cherry. Medium to full body. Finish ends dry. Everyone at dinner thought this pinot was superb
June 15, 2018 - Drinking very well right now. Lovely wine with still vibrant fruit, good acidity and nicely resolved tannins. Will probably hold for a couple of more years, but no need to wait.
October 16, 2016 - Corky
May 7, 2016 - 1
December 5, 2015 - PnD. Rich burgundy in color. Beautiful nose of strawberries, cherries, spice, and some cola. Just a year ago, the nose was fairly reticent but it really come into its own. Nice silky mouthfeel with pomegranate and some oak. Nice structure and acidity. Went great with grilled salmon with a farro butternut squash salad.
Surprisingly, there was very little difference between the Riedel Vinum and Vivant Burgundy glasses. Enjoyed at 62F.
March 21, 2015 - Decanted for about 2 hours. Served at dinner party with spicy Peruvian duck dish. Both the medium+ body and moderate acidity paired well with the spice and the fatty nature of the duck, respectively.
January 24, 2015 - Showed noticeably better balance and integration than the prior bottle five months ago. Blackfruit continues to predominate, but the complexity and smoothness have increased, as has the integration leading to the finish. Noticeably more mineral notes on the finish and still plenty of structure. This wine continues to evolve positively and I suspect will reward a bit more patience.
